MDC Museum of Art + Design Announce Opening of 2016-17 CINTAS Foundation Brandon Fradd Fellowship Competition in Music Composition.

    April 5, 2016

Miami Dade College (MDC) Museum of Art + Design and CINTAS Foundationhave announced the opening of the 2016-2017 CINTAS Foundation Brandon Fradd Fellowship in Music Composition.

CINTAS President Hortensia Sampedro announced that for the first time in the history of the fellowship, the winner will have the opportunity to have a musical composition, if suitable for orchestra, premiered by the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) led by Maestro Eduardo Marturet, in memory of MISO founder, the late Maestro Manuel Ochoa, at the Adrienne Arsht Center.

“The Miami Symphony Orchestra is honored to be part of this prestigious music competition by programming the winner’s music during our 2016-2017 concert season,” said Eduardo Marturet, MISO Music Director and Conductor.

The competition, marking its 53rd year, is awarded for creative accomplishment in the field of music composition. The broad representation of music by CINTAS Fellows may be viewed at CINTAS Fellows in Music at the CINTAS Foundation website, www.cintasfoundation.org.

The Fellowship includes a $10,000 award to carry out the composer’s project as submitted.

The blue-ribbon jury is comprised of national and international jurors of standing. This year, the winner’s composition, if suitable for orchestra, will be eligible to be premiered by the Miami Symphony Orchestra. The corresponding experience and exposure of such a prestigious performance represents a highly enriched award to the winner.

All submission materials must be received by Friday, July 1, 2016. Competition details, program requirements and application forms can be found at www.cintasfoundation.org.
